This past week This Old Farm started making variety pack meats. They come in $25, $50 & $75. Every week we will be offering different cuts of meat. You will get variations of beef, pork and chicken. We decided to put in meal or recipe suggestions into the bags. One of my favorite meals to make for my family is Bacon Chili. No one ever complains that I’m wasting precious bacon; however I find that diced bacon works well. In case you would like to try I’ve included the recipe for you. Every time I make it, I change the recipe to add variation. So feel free to add beans, noodles or whatever your family enjoys!
Smoked Bacon Chili:
2 lb stew meat
1 lb (diced) bacon
3 Peppers (green, red, orange & diced)
2 onions (diced)
1 12oz can fire roasted tomatoes
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 Tbsp chili powder
2 tsp cumin
2 tbsp smoked paprika
In a large pot, cook your bacon and leave all the fat (this adds to the flavor!). Cook your stew meat in the bacon fat. Add all your other ingredients, and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Simple & delicious!
Thank you for supporting This Old Farm!
