If you missed our last public tour, you have another chance this Friday, May 6. Come see what goes on in a USDA-inspected custom meat processing and slaughter facility.
This Old Farm believes strongly in education as a way to create awareness and appreciation for sustainable agriculture and locally-processed meat grown by family farmers without hormone implants or growth promotors. We are also current recipients of a Farm to School Initiative Grant from the USDA, which supports getting more fresh, local food into our childrens’ school lunches nationwide. As part of this grant, we routinely host school groups of all ages at our farm and processing plant. There’s always room for a few more, though so we have opened our school tour days to the public.
The tour starts at 10:30 AM and lasts approximately 2.5 hours. You will be in a refrigerated environment for first part of the tour, so please dress warmly and wear clean, closed-toe shoes or boots. For the second part of the tour, you will be outdoors on the farm.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids up to college age (just bring your student ID).
Please RSVP to kristy@thisoldfarminc.com, or call 765-324-2161 and ask for Kristy.
