You are invited!
As a launch to a new division of our sustainable farming operation we are hosting a farmer/producer meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to explore a local food distribution model we have been considering for some time. In early October we went to Kansas City to visit with Diana Endicott of Good Natured Family Farms, http://www.goodnatured.net/, who has successfully marketed local foods to a broad market base using many farm alliances. We come back with many ideas we would like to share with you. This Old Farm, Inc owned and operated by Erick and Jessica Smith is a diversified small farm specializing in pastured meats. We are preparing to close in November on a full scale processing facility located near our farm. The facility will toll process beef down to poultry. We plan to continue the toll processing done in the 7000 sq ft facility while expanding its use to specialize in natural meats and other locally produced vegetables and value added goods processing and distribution. We would love to have you join us in supplying Indiana with the best food we can produce!
When: Saturday, November 14th
Time: 1:00 pm
Location: Sugar Plain Friends Church
8980 W State Road 47

A site visit of the processing facility will be planned to immediately follow the meeting for those that are interested in touring.
