This past week we have spent time with the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to come and see the three blocks worth of buildings and many people dedicated to ensuring a food supply for fellow Americans. Our meetings were held in the National Agricultural Library, at least 10 stories of resources about agricultural information. As I walked in my eyes went straight to a highlighted book on the bookcase on local food systems. Our message that Americans want access to good, clean, local food was heard. It is nice to know that that message does not come from only us. Don’t forget that every time you support us or another local food system you are voting with your dollar. Your vote is making a difference.
