Every year, Purdue Extension with their partnering organizations, hosts the annual Indiana Local Food Summit. On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 10:30am, Lucas Roosa, Farm to Fork Harvest Manager at This Old Farm, is on a panel along with our several of our partners including Piazza Produce and Farm Logix. This session is addressing Farm-to-institution sourcing for school food service, commercial kitchens and retail and wholesale food operations. Participants will find out how the Indiana State Department of Agriculture is working to connect buyers with food that is produced in our state. In addition to Indiana grown, you will learn more about how you can purchase Regionally produced food from a number of different distributors.
The Indiana Food Summit Conference will host speakers and join people from different regions in our state to learn, network and share ideas about designing an Indiana food system that is strong, economically vital and diverse. This Old Farm is excited to be a part of the collaboration to set up a vibrant food system in our communities that will increase the quality of life for residents, making healthy food accessible to all.
