Indiana Grown: a New Label Promoting Indiana Agriculture

Gina Sheets, Director of Economic Development for the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, called me not long ago to ask if I would be willing to help promote a new brand label; Indiana Grown.  Because we represent an alliance of Indiana Farmers, finding a few to come out to the press conference with Lieutenant Governor, Becky Skillman, was the least I could do to help promote something I greatly believe in.  I was honored to be asked to help.  On Friday I was joined by Dan DeSutter of Hoosier Grassfed Beef, Jeremy Weaver of Weaver Produce, and early produce supplied by Nate and Emily Parks of Tranquil Ridge Farm.  I was proud of the display of Indiana grown products despite the early season thanks to these great farmers  (other This Old Farm alliance farms were represented as well.)  We have come a long way to have a great offering of meats, produce, and other value added Indiana grown products!  Take a look.

This new label is just one of the many benefits of being a This Old Farm alliance member.  Instead of signing on and paying individually for the label, This Old Farm will take care of those fees and your product will still be labeled Indiana Grown.  We need you!  If you are a producer not growing for This Old Farm, give us a call at (765) 324-2161.
